Choklits Child Care and Kindergarten in Croydon
Choklits Child Care Centre and Kindergarten has been a part of the Croydon community since 1995. Our child-centred curriculum, activities and spaces are purposefully designed to foster children’s development and love of learning, being tailored to their interests, wants and needs. Our Croydon early learning centre is focused on caring and educating in a nurturing, loving and safe environment to give children the confidence to explore their world.
At Choklits Child Care Croydon, we provide care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, centred around a play-based learning approach to let children’s inquisitive nature shine. We believe in ‘following the child’, through engaging with their interests and providing guidance for their exploration.
Relationships with the children in our care and their families are paramount, and we take pride in our multifaceted approach to partnering with parents and carers at our Croydon kindergarten. We emphasise the vitality of children forming meaningful relationships, and building your child’s community is a key focus of ours at Choklits, so we share in your little one’s joy each time they forge new connections or cement their friendships.
Our purpose-built Croydon early childhood centre has a spacious, open layout to foster a welcoming, friendly feel, and designated learning spaces specifically tailored to each age group from 0 to 6 years. Outside, the canopy of the large existing established trees extends over our play areas, providing natural shade for the children while they enjoy the slides, playhouses obstacle course, sandpit, water play equipment and garden.
The qualified and caring educators, backed by the Choklits‘ community knowledge and expertise, provide individualised education to suit each child’s age and developmental stage. Our long day care in Croydon presents dynamic, immersive learning opportunities through our varied program, designed to encourage holistic growth and development in young children, complete with an array of music, language, sports, yoga and movement classes. On-site, chef prepared nutritious meals are made daily, often with the assistance of the children themselves, incorporating ingredients grown in our very own centre garden. The best part is that absolutely everything is included within the standard fee, so there are no extras, ever!

Choklits Croydon awarded by the Victorian Government
Choklits Child Care in Croydon has been awarded by the Victorian Government for all six health areas in the Achievement Program.
The program is a framework centred around six key health areas, which include:
- Healthy Eating and Oral Health
- Physical Activity and Movement
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Sun Protection
- Safe Environments
- Tobacco, Alcohol and Other Drugs.
The Achievement Program is supported by the Victorian Government and delivered by Cancer Council Victoria.
The program is based on the World Health Organisation model for health promoting schools and healthy workplaces. The program was developed in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Education and Training and aligns with the Victorian Health and Wellbeing Plan and Outcomes Framework.
We are extremely proud to be meeting best practices for all these health areas at Choklits in Croydon and are particularly proud to be one of the very few early childhood services to be awarded in all six areas.

Choklits Croydon caters for 120 children under the age of 6 years, they are divided into 5 groups:

| Pre-Kindergarten | 2 - 3 years | 24 children |
| 3-Year-Old Kindergarten | 3 - 4 years | 31 children |
| 4-Year-Old Kindergarten | 4 - 6 years | 31 children |
Each group of children is cared for and educated by qualified early childhood professionals. The minimum staff/child ratio for children under 3 years is 1:4 (educator:children) and over 3 years is 1:11. Choklits exceeds the minimum requirements.

We also have a dedicated carpark out the front of our Croydon day care to ensure pickups and drop-offs are as streamlined and stress-free as possible.
